As 2025 draws to a close, we’re looking back on another year full of surfing Bali’s best waves, the successes of our team riders and all the laughter, fun and surf progression that happened at our surf camp in Bali. This year was all about growth, both in and out of the water, from worldwide surf highlights to sessions that changed lives at our camps. We had a great year of surf guiding all surfers, from beginners to advanced!
2025 was an impressive year for surfing. The World Surf League showed some unforgettable moments. This year’s championship tour was unforgettable. The WSL Finals were at Cloudbreak in Fiji. This year Yago Dora (Brazil) claimed his first World Title at the WSL Finals and Molly Picklum (Australia) also won her first WSL World Championship, beating Olympic gold medalist Caroline Marks in the finals.
We also hosted epic Halloween and Christmas parties at our camps in Canggu and Seminyak, bringing our global community together to celebrate in the tropics!
We welcomed surfers from all over the world, professionally guiding hundreds of surf lessons, instructing hundreds of yoga classes and loads of fun and surfing progression. We matched all our surfers to the right waves and guided surfers all over Bali’s coastline, from Nusa Dua, to Seminyak, Canggu, Keramas, Kuta and even day trips to Medewi and boat trips to Uluwatu’s five different peaks.
Our Kima Surf Team riders made Kima proud in 2025, both on a regional and international level. Rising Indonesian surf legend, Bronson Meydi won the 2025 WSL World Junior Championship Title. Bronson is paving the way for young surfing talent across the world!
Alongside Bronson, Varun Tandjung maintained his position as one of the best QS contenders in 2025 thanks to his excellent finishes on the WSL Qualifying Series and exceptional heat performances.
Our Bali crew performed well at invitational and local competitions. Varun, Sinar, and Rizal Tandjung represented Kima at the Uluwatu Single Fin Classic with style and dedication, proving experience and passion still run deep in the Bali surf scene.
Our dedicated team was on a mission to help surfers around the world advance and have a deeper understanding of the ocean. We introduced the “Analyse the Wave With Us” series to share knowledge about wave selection, positioning and technique with our community and our Guest Experience Series provided a behind-the-scenes peek at life at Kima Surf.
We also presented longboarding techniques, examining flow, style, and rhythm to reach more surfers around the world. We hope our community was able to make the most of every session thanks to our instructions and guides.
At Kima Surf we are passionate about giving back to the beautiful islands we call home, and the best way to do this is by sharing the stoke of surfing with the local community. This year we hosted a Kids Surfing Day, where our knowledgeable surf guides taught 10 local kids to surf. The kids were amazing and it was a great day out experiencing the ocean in a safe and fun way!
Kima Surf was the main sponsor for the 12 Surf Spots in 2 Days charity event, hosted by the Jack Price Project. Together we managed to gather the surf community to surf along Bali’s coastline for a good cause. The event raised funds for Speech therapy for kids with hearing impairments in Indonesia.
These events reminded us that surfing is more than a sport—it’s a way to connect, give back, and create lasting memories.
